What are the IHC Telecom Art Awards?
The IHC Telecom Art Awards were established in 2004 to encourage and recognise creativity from New Zealanders with an intellectual disability.
Over the years it has become an important event, with over 600 people entering in 2007.
IHC Telecom Art Awards 2008 call for entries
Art works and completed entry forms are to be submitted between 6 June and 4 July 2008. The closing date is 4 July 2008 4pm. Late applications will not be accepted. Please read the conditions of entry form as some conditions have changed from previous years.

Prizes and awards presentation
The Awards will be presented at a function in Wellington on 24 September 2008 at TheNewDowse gallery in Lower Hutt.
1st prize winner receives $5000
2nd prize winner receives $2000
3rd and 4th winners receive $1000.
Regional and national art exhibitions
Regional art exhibitions will be held in Hamilton, Wellington and Christchurch during July and August 2008. Ten finalists selected from each region will be announced in July.
Members of the public will be able to view the regional artworks at:
- SANDZ Gallery, Hamilton
- Art House, Petone (Wellington)
- The Arts Centre, Christchurch
A national exhibition of the 30 finalist artworks will be held at:
- TheNewDowse (Lower Hutt, Wellington) - the entire 30 finalists artworks will be on exhibition at TheNewDowse from 12 September through to early 2009.
Online bidding and viewing
- Online bidding for artworks will be available again, as well as online viewing of the 30 finalist artworks.
