Planning PrintPrint

A personal plan is IDEA Services’ way of finding out about someone and making sure support is appropriate to meet their goals and needs.

Personal plans include all aspects of a person’s support – health, vocational, physical and behavioural support.

People can expect to have a say in what is in their plan. If they are not able to be involved, IDEA Services will work with the important people in their lives to plan on their behalf.

IDEA Services is committed to recognising the cultural needs of each person we support. These should be discussed during needs assessment, on entry to services and during annual planning processes.

Families can expect to be involved in planning meetings, with the agreement of their relative, unless court orders prevent this. They can expect the plan to be clearly written, to have a review date, and to be asked how they would like staff to communicate with them, and how often.
