Planning PrintPrint

A personal plan is our way of finding out about someone and making sure support is appropriate and meets an individual's goals and needs.

Personal plans include all aspects of a person’s support – health, vocational, physical and behavioural support.

People supported by IDEA Services can expect:

  • to have a say in the plan
  • to have important people in their lives work together to plan on their behalf if they aren't able to be involved

IDEA Services is committed to recognising the cultual needs of each person we support. These should be discussed during needs assessment, on entry to services and during annual planning processes.

Families can expect:

  • to be involved in planning, unless their relative decides they would prefer they don't attend planning meetings, or court orders prevent this
  • the plan to be clearly written
  • the plan to have a review date
  • to be asked how they would like staff to communicate with them, and how often.
