IDEA Services aims to have a stable, skilled and well-trained workforce. However, staff do leave and changes happen. We do use relieving staff if regular staff are sick or on leave. Relieving staff will introduce themselves to those they support.
IDEA services does its best to involve the people it supports and their family representatives on interview panels for new staff. IDEA Services is the employer and final decisions around staff appointments rest with managers who will take all views into account.
As the employer, IDEA Services' managers are responsible for ensuring all staff follow our code of conduct.
The primary responsibility of staff is to the people who are using the service. We encourage families to continue to be invloved with their family member.
Staff will:
- be police checked
- be trained and oriented to their role
- have a manager who supervises their work
