PGG Wrightson IHC Calf & Rural Scheme

The PGG Wrightson IHC Calf & Rural Scheme combines the efforts and generosity of farmers with New Zealand’s largest rural supply company to raise funds for New Zealanders with an intellectual disability.
The scheme includes all types of livestock. Anyone can pledge animals to be sold at auction through PGG Wrightson’s livestock trading network.

About the Calf & Rural Scheme
Launched in 1984, the Calf Scheme is a vital fundraiser – more than 6000 animals are donated annually raising over $1.4 million. Rural families rely on IHC and our service arm IDEA Services. In many of these communities IHC is often the only organisation providing crucial support for people with an intellectual disability and their families.
How does it work?
Farmers raise one or more animals until they are weaned. We give you a numbered ear tag to identify your IHC animal. The animals are then sold at a weaner sale through the PGG Wrightson livestock trading network. Or you can donate a virtual animal or the amount of the average price at the sale – its easy!
