Autism education
IDEA Services offers two programmes specifically for families and caregivers of children with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD).
ASD Plus – Education for Parents
ASD Plus is an education programme for the parents and family/whanau of pre-school children with Autism Spectrum Disorder. This programme is funded by the Ministries of Health and Education.
ASD Plus supports families to learn about ASD. Families will understand how ASD influences their child, and learn and practice strategies to help their child’s development.
ASD Plus is about strengthening families. The programme is practical, evidence-based, supportive, and individualised. Each family gets individual attention and support.
It is delivered by IDEA Services Specialist Services for families in the South Island and in the Northland region of New Zealand.

ASD Communication and Behaviour Service
IDEA Services provides an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Communication and Behaviour service in Auckland for children and young people. The service team have supported 66 young people in the last year.
IDEA Services also provides Autism Spectrum Disorder education programmes for parents and whanau of young children. They have delivered these programmes in Northland and the South Island this year to over 60 families.
