Supported employment
IDEA Services supported employment staff support people to find paid jobs. This involves job search, job training and ongoing job support. Supported employment staff work with employers to find out what they need and match the right person to the job. This is a free service for employers. Supported employment staff work with other employees in the organisation by providing disability awareness information and giving advice.
Microenterprises
Some people want to set up their own small business. IDEA Services supports person to explore this goal.
Voluntary work
A person may want to contribute to the community by becoming a volunteer. It could be recycling initiatives, planting programmes at beaches and parks or delivering meals on wheels. IDEA Services supports people to identify opportunities for voluntary work based on their interests.
Education and skill development
IDEA Services supports people to identify learning needs and develop skills. We will support people to access further education and skill development in the community or in one of our centres if not available in the community.
Community participation
Being a valued community member is important. IDEA Services supports people to identify and participate in community activities to follow their interests, passions and dreams. IDEA Service staff work in partnership with family, friends and community members to support people to get involved in their communities.
