Some of the programmes run by IHC to support people with intellectual disabilities and their families are funded by kind donations from the public. To support this fundraising, IHC uses face-to-face fundraisers and telemarketing callers to ask people to donate.
Face-to-face fundraisers talk to people on the street or visit them at their homes to talk about the important work IHC does and how they can support people with intellectual disabilities and their families.
All face-to-face fundraisers are easily identified by their IHC uniform and a photo ID card.
During the week starting 30 September 2024, fundraisers will be operating in the following areas:
Canterbury
Auckland
Lower Hutt
Telephone fundraisers call people to talk to them about supporting people with intellectual disabilities by donating to IHC.
If you are an existing donor, they may be calling to thank you for your gift, update your details, or see if you are happy with the amount you are giving or would like to do more.
They also call people who don’t regularly donate to IHC to see if they would like to make a regular monthly donation as many people don’t realise this is a very effective way to give.
If you have any queries or feedback about this fundraising, please email smile.club@ihc.org.nz or you can call freephone 0800 746 444 during business hours, or leave a message and we’ll get back to you.
It is often helpful to have the fundraiser’s name, location or address, and contact number of the person if they telephoned you. All our fundraisers will be happy to give you this information if you ask for it.
