I was inspired by an opossum because they are freaky looking and only come out at night. Opossums are very resourceful and can adapt well in even challenging environments. Some years ago, my sister raised an orphaned opossum. It would climb up and down the furniture and the noise it made was rather horrendous. Whilst I understand they are a pest I cannot get fired up about wanting to destroy them.

This painting is made with acrylic paint. It shows a kea, a smart and cheeky New Zealand parrot, surrounded by lots of colourful shapes. The artist used a special dotting technique to make the patterns. The shapes are abstract, which means they don?t look like real things, but they show movement and feeling. The kea stands out in the painting. This artwork is full of energy and shows the artist's unique style and imagination.
