Disability Support Services Bill committee hearing
IHC Chief Executive Andrew Crisp and National Self Advocacy Advisor David Corner gave oral submissions to the Social Services and Community Committee hearing into the Disability Services Support Bill on Tuesday, 30 June.
In his submission, Andrew Crisp said: "This Bill is just not good enough."
Among the Bill's issues, Andrew said the most critical problem was that it was not inclusive.
"Inclusion is missing in the process of the Bill and in the way the Bill is proposed to operate," he said.
IHC's submission proposed halting the legislation's progress until a meaningful inclusive design process had been completed.
David added: "there should be nothing about us without us."
